DearManning，—IsenttoBrownsimmediately.Mr.Brown（orPijou，asheiscalledbythemoderns）deniedthehavingreceivedaletterfromyou.Theoneforyouherememberedreceiving，andremittingtoLeadenhallStreet;whitherIimmediatelyposted（itbeingthemiddleofdinner），myteethunpicked.ThereIlearnedthatifyouwantalettersetright，youmustapplyatthefirstdooronthelefthandbeforeoneoclock.Ireturnedandpickedmyteeth.AndthismorningImademyapplicationinform，andhaveseenthevagabondletter，whichmostlikelyacpaniesthis.Ifitdoesnot，IwillgetRickmantonameittotheSpeaker，whowillnotfailtolaythematterbeforeParliamentthenextsessions，whenyoumaybesuretohaveallabusesinthePostDepartmentrectified.

N.B.Thereseemstobesomeinformalityepidemical.YoudirectyourstomeinMitreCourt;mytrueaddressisMitreCourtBuildings.BythepleasantriesofFortune，wholikesajokeoradoubleentendreaswellasthebestofherchildren，therehappenstobeanotherMr.Lamb（thatthereshouldbetwo!!）inMitreCourt.
